When you find a good employee, you want to keep him! Afterall, it costs a lot of money to search for a new candidate, interview, and train a new employee. It’s in the company’s best interest to make sure those good employees are happy and well taken care of.

Take a look below for some tips on keeping your employees morale high.

1. Praise often. If your employee does a good job, be sure to tell him. Were you happy with the latest report? Pleased with his ability to stay under budget? Excited about the event that was planned and executed? Make sure your employees know you appreciate a job well done. A little bit of “thanks” goes a long way.

2. Reward. You don’t always have to reward with money (although, money is a great motivator). If your business is like most in this economy, then you have to be creative with rewards. Give a good employee an extra day off, let him go to lunch a little bit early, or maybe give him a gift certificate to dinner. There are many different ways to reward a good employee.

3. Make expectations known. You can also let other employees know that you appreciate a good employee. This helps those who have a little bit of work to do know what the expectations are. When they see you praising another employee, they know their job isn’t going unnoticed either. The other employees also know what they need to do in order to receive the same recognition.

How will you reward your good employees?

One thing that businesses need to worry about is the safety of their employees. This is especially true if the work setting is dangerous in any way. For instance, if there is large machinery, heavy items, dangerous chemicals or materials, or anything else that can bring harm if used incorrectly, employees are at risk of injury.

You may need to contact Los Angeles personal injury attorneys to make sure your assets are safe while the injured employee gets compensated fairly. This can all be a very overwhelming situation. You need to protect your business, but you also feel bad about what happened. An attorney can help you through the lawsuit process and educate you on what you need to do.

Depending on the injury situation, you may need to have your business inspected for safety. This is standard procedure, especially after a death has occurred. There is also usually an investigation conducted following an injury.

The most important thing to do when an employee has been injured on the job is ensure that it never happens again. Make changes where needed and provide additional training to employees to avoid future problems.

It may be that now is the time you’re considering bootstrapping your real estate business. It’s a smart move to make in these times, when businesses and companies are saving money to ensure they come out on top and in the black. Whether you’re a broker or a flipper, using and saving money wisely will mean better payoffs later.

Borrow a Little Green…

It may be worth it to get a small loan, especially if your current fiscal forecast has you concerned. Fast cash loans are smaller than traditional business loans and can be dispersed quickly once you’ve been approved. An unexpected hiccup with a property or with operations may benefit from some borrowed cash you can pay back over a longer period of time.

and Bootstrap Too

Securing a cash loan is one great way for your real estate business to keep humming, and so is taking a few steps to save money in other areas.

Consider downgrading to a smaller office; customers aren’t overly concerned about visiting your official digs, and are more likely to contact you via mobile phone for a face to face meet.

Have employees work from home or on the go. Smartphones make answering calls and emails possible anywhere, so customers are always able to access you and you can communicate with employees sans costly brick and mortar bills.

Look for ways to save on flipped house decorating costs. DIY, a talented friend, discounts sales, and good old fashioned haggling can save hundreds.

Put your cash loan to good use, then get creative; you’ll likely find plenty of fresh ways to save a little more green.

Beep beep beep beep shhhhhhh meeep! What is this sound? If you have ever worked in an office, you recognize it as the sound of a successful facsimile transmission, better known as the fax machine. So if no one relies on modems to access the Internet anymore, why should they rely on their phone line to transmit a document? As it turns out, you don’t. There are now Internet fax services that will allow you to fax without a fax machine, and you can even use your mobile phone.

One such service is Metrofax Faxing. This has options for small businesses and corporations, so it can fit your needs whether you have small needs or large-volume faxing to do. Internet faxing can be particularly useful for filling open positions.

For you candidates who want to send and receive faxes, you can communicate without actually having a real fax machine tying up your phone line. A recent review proclaims that Metrofax is the easiest Internet faxing service that you can find, and that you can even try a free test fax to see if it is to your liking.

Another advantage to using this service for your human resources need is that you can receive faxes as PDF files, which will make it easy to store and distribute the resumes that you receive. Small businesses will appreciate the low 3 cent-per-page charge. If you struggle with technology, you should note that this form of internet faxing does not even require you to install a new program on your computer as you can run the whole thing through your email.

Offering excellent customer service to customers that are living thousands of miles away is not always easy, especially if business picks up at the main office and staying in contact with your international contacts becomes difficult. However, without receiving quality service, many customers will stop doing business with American companies, so maintaining good communication is a must.

One way to do good business is to make sure that all requirements within the countries have been met. This helps business to keep FCPA Compliance (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) and stay away from legal issues that could damage the reputation and offend clients. Once all licenses and forms have been properly obtained and filed, the business has the potential to flourish. That’s where excellent communication can make or break the business.

One thing that often means a lot to customers abroad is to make an effort to learn the language, if there is another language. This is a sign of respect to other cultures, and could be very meaningful. Another way is to offer frequent and regular face-to-face communication, whether in the form of a personal visit or online video chat programs. Staying in close contact with clients helps them to feel important and encourages them to continue to purchase the product or service, even if that just means sending a weekly personalized email, following up quickly, or remembering important dates.

Making a business stand out among thousands of similar companies is certainly not easy. However, with the right tools and communication, it can be a profitable way to learn more about other cultures and keep clients content with the way the business is being run.

A lot of people tend to spend more money than they earn. The best way to prevent doing this is simply by budgeting your money. The first and most important step to budgeting is writing down all of your expenses. Most people make out a budget for every paycheck or for every month. Write down what you spend for everything that month. Once you have an idea of how much you spend in a month, you can start to plan ahead and see what things take up most of your paycheck.

Separate the list into categories such as bills, luxuries, groceries, gas, etc. You will also want to write down you income. Put all of your necessary expenses, such as gas, bills, etc. at the top of the list. After you have done this, subtract all of your expenses from your monthly income. If you have money left over, you are doing great. If you have a negative number, you will need to go through your expenses and see which things can be taken off the list. For example, you find out you are spending hundreds of dollars eating out every month. Try to start eating at home instead. With a budget, you may find you are spending too much money on something you never think twice about.

Before you spend any money on entertainment or other things that are not necessary, calculate all of your necessities first and then you can use the left over money. Do not do this the other way around. Necessities come before anything else. You may also want to put any extra cash into savings.

Before plunging into serious forex currency trading, it’s crucial to make sure you are ready.

Realize that going into trading requires a commitment to life-long learning. All trading takes skill and a firm knowledge that you can lose. Forex currency trading online has high potential; never take it for granted.

One of the most important areas to cover is finding good forex trading signal services. These are companies that help traders to see what is currently happening in the trade world.

A finding trading signal service takes some searching. Usually you can hone your search down to the top 20. Also, do not neglect the paid ads in searching. Some of these may be just what you are looking for.

Visit blogs and Internet sites for info specifically on trading signal services. If you are a computer geek, make sure that you are seeking out the best in methodologies and are not simply lured in by computer toys. Think of your won trading skills as you would an on-going martial arts training program. It never stops, and you want to be in the best shape at all times.

Don’t take unnecessary risks. Ever. Never trade because of emotions or impatience. Keep your goals in front of you. Plan ahead while keeping the end in mind. Even though you want the mountain now, remember that you can only climb one step at a time. As the old saying goes, put your dreams in cement and your plans in sand.

Proper customer care will be possible only if the employees are well trained. Almost all business entrepreneurs are aware of this fact. However, the same entrepreneurs ignore that the training, must be relevant and must provide value addition. Telling your employees that they should be polite with customers is not training. That is common sense.

Chances are high that your employees are aware of this fact. Your training should focus on those issues and complications that will arise because of the special nature of your business. If you work in an industry where customers often try to solve their problems on their own and often end up complicating the issue, you should train your employees not to ridicule these efforts of customers.

The efforts may be amateurish but nobody likes to be sniggered at. This is particularly true if you want to retain goodwill and business of your customers.

At the same time, you should develop channels that will help you obtain feedback from your employees. At the end of the day, they are the ones who interact with your customers and provide service.

They form an important part of your customer service strategy. If you know what makes your customers take and what makes them upset, you can make the necessary changes to your production process. Do you believe that employees need customer service training and that you do not need any feedback? If so, your employees will lose morale and motivation. The best way to avoid this problem is to have private sessions where you discuss the issues and negative approach of various customers. This will help you keep difficulties under check.

When used properly, the Internet is an amazing tool. If you want to market your rental properties, market them online.

Online advertising is proving to be the most effective way to touch base with a massive amount of potential renters. There are so many free options out there for property owners and many options don’t require any kind of membership to use the site.

With marketing online, you’ll want to use all the different forums and websites, such as Craigslist, to promote your listings. Here is how property owners and homeowners can market their Boston apartments online.

You can use free websites like Backpage, PennysaverUSA and Kijiji to upload your listings quickly and easily. Websites like these and Craigslist have thousands of visitors each and every day that could be potentially looking at your listing.

Before anything, open a Word document on your computer and write all the words you want in your listing. Be sure to include the actual address or the neighborhood your rental is located in. If there are any requirements to renting your place than include those as well.

Always include top-quality images of the rental. There are many free photo hosting websites that allow you to create a slide show. Guess what? You’re also marketing your rental on these sites as well since you can include a quick description with the image!

Then use social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace to promote your listings. They’re free, quick and easy to use… not to mention there are millions of people on these websites daily. You’d be surprised what social media can do for your business.

Do you believe that there is no reason to smile and have eye contract with your customers because you simply talk to them on your cell phone? Well, here is some news for you. It is important to smile and maintain eye contact with your customers even if you are using impersonal means of communication.

Why don’t you have a talk with your girlfriend for five minutes and judge whether she is in a good mood or not? Chances are high that you can easily find out how happy your girlfriend is even when you are on the phone. How? You simply judge the smile in her voice. That is exactly how your customers are going to judge you.

They want to feel that you are very happy talking to them. If they feel that you are irritated, frustrated and distracted, they will automatically conclude that they are the root cause behind the same. This may not very reasonable but that is how customers work.

As far eye contact is concerned, it is important to understand that eye contact does not mean you should stare the other individual. Rather, you should use your eyes to convey that you are interested in what is being said. You can do the same by maintaining intelligent and responsive contact.

Rather than asking your customer to repeat his or her problem three times before anybody thinks of a solution, you could try to speed up the process. Rather than being reactive, you could try to be proactive in helping the customer solve his or her problem. This will improve your reputation as a customer friendly business.

Are you flooded with complaints that your employees don’t respect your customers? This may make you very angry at first but it also requires a certain level of introspection. The customer is king and it is because of his or her wallet that your business and, consequently, the lives of your employees function properly. Why on earth should your employees be critical towards your customers?

It is important to understand that your business will collapse the very next day if all your employees quit. You may have setup the business out of your own efforts but you cannot run it permanently alone. You will need assistance from others. Of course, you pay them for their services but there is something more than money involved here. If you have not respected this fact, chances are high that your employees are merely retaliating by behaving the same with your customers.

If you judge employees on the basis of numbers and not on the basis of quality of performance, your employees too will begin to treat customers as money bags. The bigger money bag will get more respect.

If you have the reputation of being a tough boss but also an irresponsible and unreasonable individual who does not listen to feedback, chances are high that your employees may not bother to do the same with your customers.

If you are taking stress out on you employees, chances are high that they are passing the stress to customers. Not all problems may be appearing because of you but it is important to analyze to ensure you are not the reason why your firm does not offer good customer service.

With so many homes foreclosing in 2011, it’s important that these people find somewhere to live after being kicked out of their homes. Researching the 2011 real estate trends will help benefit landlords, investors, and consumers. If you are one of these people, these 2011 trends may help you make better investing choices, or for consumers, help you to stay within your budget and to find a home that fits your needs.

Single-family homes are more likely to sell affordably in 2011 than suburban homes are. People are interested in investing in small property, so the suburban homeowners are going to have a tough time selling their houses, which will cause their prices to rise. This is useful information for those interested in investing in property. If you are looking to buy, you may want to start by looking at small homes because they will be more affordable and probably easily within your budget.

Because of the large amount of foreclosures, many people are going to be looking to rent and may need property management. If you are looking for an affordable rental house, you may use this knowledge to your advantage because you know the market is going to be competitive. Research rental homes as much as you can to find available homes that fit your needs.

For people that own rental houses, this change in demand is going to be a good thing because you will receive more customers. This may do something for your property management. Because the market is so competitive, you may need to change your routine to receive the best customers.

Employee training can be crucial for the productivity levels of an organization. Yet, a lot of companies don’t take the training of their employees seriously enough, many even consider it a waste of time and money. This is a very negative outlook about training that could provide great benefits for your organization. Here are some tips on how HR managers can approach the topic of training:

You can never emphasize enough that training is not an unnecessary expense but a necessary investment in the human capital of an organization. HR managers need to stress this point to get approvals for training sessions for employees.

Despite its importance, employee training usually has a small annual budget so you need to think your training option through. Analyse what skills employees need to develop the most and prioritize training programs that cater to that particular skill set.

Once you have the set of priorities, you need to present this list to the management in a manner that will convince them investing in these training programs will lead to tangible business gains. You won’t be lying!

It’s not just managers who take training lightly but employees too can think of training as a waste of time. Encourage them to take up training by emphasizing its importance to their career growth and chances of being promoted within the organization.

Don’t try to go all out with grand training programs that require huge amounts to be spent at once. Instead, take the time to research for cost effective training programs that will provide the same level of learning. If it is not expensive, it doesn’t mean it is ineffective!

It’s tax time. Those words are terrifying to some people. Tax payers usually fall into one of two categories: those who are prepared and those who are not prepared. Be sure to fall into the category of the prepared.

Income tax is the most commonly filed tax for most consumers. Consumers may also file business tax forms as well. No matter what type of forms you file, there are ways to prepare.

It is important to report all income sources, do not just rely on W2 forms. Mutual funds, stocks, and interest earned are reportable income. There is nothing more annoying than having your return all prepared and, surprise, a new form arrives and you have to start over.

Gather all receipts. This may be an easy or difficult task depending on how organized you have been throughout the year. If you have an effective file system, you are ready to go, if you have shoved receipts in a shoe box all year long, you will have a bit more work ahead of you. Trying to get it all done at the last minute just makes a stressful process even more stressful. If you haven’t kept good records then devise a better system to use the following year.

Taxes do not have to involve an expensive accountant. There are many ways to do your taxes yourself. Even if your income tax seems complicated there are very good software programs that can help you through the process. It does not have to be expensive.

With a little preparation tax season can be easier and more manageable.

Training your employees to interact with customers is a very important investment. You cannot afford to compromise on quality of interaction with customers. What factors should you consider when you are training your employees? Seek consistency.

Your employee may enjoy access to additional information depending on his or her rank or designation. However, the basic approach towards solving the problem of your customers should remain the same. The last thing you want is for three or four employees to provide specific advice to customers only to find that the manager on top provides a completely different and contradictory solution.

If you enjoy your customers to contact you using the telephone, then you should be in a position to understand the level up to which past conversations have taken place. There should be consistency and flow in the advice you provide. Otherwise, the customer will feel that you are merely toying with him or her. Once the customer gets irritated, it will become very difficult for you to retain your reputation and goodwill.

Many persons become disappointed when they do not enjoy praise for their consistency. You do not get applause for wearing your clothes on a daily basis, do you? That is exactly how consistency works as far as customer care is concern. It is one of the most fundamental requirements. Being consistent will not help you enjoy numerous accolades. Rather, it will help you avoid brickbats that otherwise will be targeted at you.

This is exactly how customer training works. If you can solve problems without becoming one yourself, you can pat yourself for having done a very good job.

Cloud computing is the practice of using one internet-based network to store, manage and process data. Establishments that host such networks typically provide data storage services for a certain price. While prices vary by storage capacity, the benefits of cloud computing outweighs costs associated with the service.

Cloud services are typically used to reduce costs associated with information technology. A typical information technology department is staffed by a large group of employees. These employees require compensation for their services and long-term benefits that can ultimately cost the company millions of dollars. Since establishments providing cloud services have highly trained information technology employees available for computer glitches and other technical difficulties, there is no need for subscribing companies to organize and staff an IT department. Utilizing cloud computing eliminates the need for an entire information technology staff and still allows the company to upload and monitor data with ease; this is key for a small business looking to lower operational costs without losing vital services.

In addition to saving money, cloud technology is convenient. A human resources manager can easily access a candidacy list from the comfort of his or her home at any hour of the day or night; there is no longer a need to return to the office to view files.

Aside from being cost-effective and versatile, cloud technology also helps the environment. Since subscribing businesses no longer need to establish their own IT departments, there is no need to purchase hundreds of computers for system monitoring. Obtaining fewer electronic devices saves energy and helps preserve the planet.

As a new Human Resources appointee, it is up to you to write a job description that accurately describes what your employer is looking for while avoiding violating the rights of the prospective hires or current employees. This is a delicate balancing act, and there are many important considerations to take into account.

A typical job description will include a list of responsibilities for an open position. It will detail the kinds of educational and/or experiential background required of the successful applicant, and may also include a salary range. The description should include some information about the person or people to whom the applicant would report as a new staff member. The specificity of a job description will vary widely depending upon the level of the position being offered, the degree of intellectual freedom the applicant is expected to have, and the speed at which the field in question is changing. It is important for the description to bring the right candidates to the table. There are even some free job description templates available online to guide the new Human Resources manager in knowing how to approach the description.

It is important to avoid violating the rights of your employees by not going outside the bounds of what you define to be their job in their given duties. In a position that requires a wide variety of tasks, some employers may avoid this problem by including the phrase “and other duties as required” to encompass a broad range of possibilities. Possibly the easiest way to assess your draft description is to pretend you are the applicant: are the described duties what you would do?

Affiliate marketing is only as successful as the effort that is placed toward finding the right product or service, and effectively marketing that product to an interested niche audience. In order to find those interested parties, the affiliate marketer must know how to strategically brand themselves or, ideally, their product, creating a synonymous connection in the minds of the customers.

Effective strategies in building a solid affiliate review program include coupling with other complementary products or services in order to build relationships in an industry and also working to gain industry authority and recognition. By doing these things, you can keep your customers interested and invite their repeat business.

Complementary services for an affiliate advertising program are ideal for exposure. Registering with the right affiliate provider that enhances and is more targeted toward your goal is ideal, but always take the time to ensure that the program is solidly established and beneficial. By reading affiliate review programs and a few real-life examples of an affiliate’s success, you’re likely more inclined to have confidence in marketing the affiliate program.

It’s also a good idea to visit other affiliate sites in your industry to see the feedback given on the forums. This gives you (as an affiliate) the opportunity to see first-hand if the program is something worth the investment of time and/or money that may be required. It’s also a wise move to research all available affiliate programs in your niche area before settling on any one program in particular.

Over time, a good affiliate program that’s properly maintained and marketed has the potential to return high profits and lots of future business for the affiliate.

If you are unemployed for the first time or you are an employer that expects to lay off employees, you may be confused about who can enroll in unemployment benefits. There are many good online resources for you to use for reference, but here is a very brief summary to get you started.

Image via Wikipedia

Every state has a different set of regulations as to who can access unemployment benefits and how. You should go to your state’s own website about the regulations that pertain to your area for the most accurate listings. Generally speaking, people who receive benefits must be a citizen of the United States, and must be able to work. Those who are physically incapable of working should seek disability coverage instead. If you were fired from your job for serious behavioral reasons such as sexual harassment, you may be ineligible for benefits. However, if you were laid off for reasons not related to misconduct, you are most likely to be eligible.

However, if you resign from your job, you are usually going to be ineligible for benefits. If you quit because of family illness, dangerous working conditions, or other difficult circumstances, you may still be able to apply because you have “good cause” for leaving, but if you were simply unhappy, this is not considered cause to receive assistance. To file a claim, you will probably need recent pay stubs, your social security card, and proof that you no longer are employed. You should expect to wait at least a week for claim workers to check your paperwork and start your benefits.

The field of medical billing and coding is a rapidly growing one, as more and more healthcare facilities go paperless. Many are taking advantage of work-from-home employees who telecommute and of other methods of getting this important work done.

If you are considering a career in the medical billing and coding field and you’ve been doing some research, you may have already seen some of the different codes and acronyms that are used. You may wonder whether you can ever grasp the language. In order to get a little bit of a head start on your training for this type of job, you’re going to learn what some of the most widely used ICD 10 codes are.

ICD 10 codes are a series of letters and numbers that are assigned to diseases, diagnoses or conditions. These codes are used as a means of tracking medical history. Because they are almost universally adopted, a healthcare professional in another part of the country, or even the world, can see the types of services a patient has received, as well as the reason for them. And, of course, they’re used for billing purposes.

Because these medical codes are widely used, it is important for medical billing and coding personnel have access to most updated codes. It is also important to enter the codes correctly in the system being used. This ensures that the information entered will be accurate so that medical and billing mistakes will not occur. A wrong code might lead to a misdiagnosis, the wrong treatment being given, or inaccurate charges.

In the medical billing and coding industry, ICD 10 codes are essential.

Unfortunately, a bad economy is something that every established country has to deal with from time to time. Whether the economic down turn is the result of high gas prices or a costly war, bad economic times impact everyone. While in fact a short recession is not anything to get up in arms about, long term economic down turns that begin taking a toll on employment numbers is something that can cause a detrimental cycle and exceedingly difficult to dig out of.

The difficult side of bad economic times is that small businesses tend to suffer the most. The main reason for this is that they do not have the capital that larger businesses have to stay afloat for long without revenue. As these small businesses begin to fail, large amounts of the American workforce find themselves forcefully let go and placed into the category of unemployment.

Unemployment is something that can make or break an economy. Obviously, there will be some individuals and families that can deal with one adult being laid off. However, in many cases, modern households are dependent on multiple income streams, so when one adult gets laid off it causes big issues. As the unemployment rate begins to rise, more people are going to be spending less. The direct result of less spending means less business for companies that are already struggling, causing more lay-offs to occur.

It is not difficult to see how the unemployment rate spiralling out of control can have detrimental effects on an economy. Small business, while often overlooked, are extremely important in neutralizing this effect.

Businesses are looking for ways to save money. While there are many things businesses can afford to cut back on, one item that is an essential must-have is the ability for companies to provide business cards to their employees. Companies cannot afford to reduce or eliminate this crucial marketing item.

Here is a look at some of the benefits that can come from company provided business cards.

Giving Employees a Company to Belong to

Employees often feel as if they are a part of something special when they have a personal business card that shows their name attached to the company logo. This community feeling often entices employees to work harder for the company, which can bring in more profits or sales.

Marketing Tools

A business card is a great marketing tool for companies. When employees are out networking, a business card with the employee’s name, contact information and company they work for can be used as a marketing tool to bring in prospective clients or customers to the company.

Good First Impressions

Companies only have one chance to make a good first impression on prospective clients and customers. When a prospective client asks for information, handing them a business cardlooks better than having to write the information down on a napkin, or having to admit that you don’t have a business card at all.

With all these benefits, you can see why it is essential to avoid cutting back your company’s business card budget, as it can have a direct effect on your company’s profits.

By contacting the supervisor, you may be able to find out what if this option is offered. Most employers recognize the importance of offering job training to their workers, as it improves the knowledge of the worker. They may also be able to use it for a tax deduction, which also benefits the company.

For the unemployed person or one that is only working part-time, the benefits of seeking additional job training can greatly aid in helping you find better employment. It may also raise your chances of being promoted to a better paying position at your current job. For the unemployed, taking a course on job training will not only increase your chance of finding a job in your area of expertise, but it may also allow you to find a better paying job.

Figuring out the perfect combination of marketing techniques for your business can be a frustrating process. Realistically, it can also take a good amount of money. Getting the perfect balance, though, can do great things for any business. So, what are some things that you should try when putting together the perfect marketing plan?

Online

There are many ways to market online. You can have a blog, update websites like Facebook and Twitter, and advertise with other companies. Make sure that your company gets listed in databases such as canada 411so that you can be looked up by their users.

Direct Mailing

You can mail out advertisements to your target market. There are many options to do this, like sending flyers to people in your area. The downside to direct mailing is that you have to foot the cost of printing up front. This is a turn off for some small businesses, but it can also be a huge money maker.

Word of Mouth

Many businesses today forget about this tried and true method of marketing. If someone is recommended to your business through a friend or family member, they are likely to trust that recommendation. Word of mouth is one of the most effective forms of marketing. If you offer a great product or service, your word-of-mouth marketing will thrive.

Getting a company off the ground is all about marketing. The more people that recognize your business, the better. Getting your name out there is extremely important for all companies.

When an employee terminates a working relationship with an employee in the United States it is generally assume that the employee may have the right to collect state unemployment. State unemployment is available to any employee, who through no fault of their own lost their job and paid into the unemployment system. Unemployment benefits are available to employees regardless of if their employment status was an at will or contract employee.

If you are looking into whether or not you qualify for unemployment benefits, here are some tips on what might qualify you for benefits and what might be held against you.

Loss of Job

The majority of people who collect unemployment have lost their jobs through no fault of their own. However, some employees can collect unemployment if they were legally fired by an employee. These people can usually collect on unemployment after a period of time. The wait time is generally 6 to 10 weeks.

Period of Time to File for Unemployment

It is important to file for unemployment as soon as you are let go of your job. Many times employees will wait to file for unemployment which can cause them to be denied the benefits that they are allowed to receive.

Reasons for Not Receiving Unemployment

Unemployment is always an option when you have been let go. However, if you have been let go because of stealing, harm to other employees, harassing, or insubordination you are automatically denied any unemployment benefits.

One of the most important aspects of running any type of business is customer feedback. For instance, a lot of negative feedback can indicate that your team is not as efficient as it should be. As a manager, this is crucial information – and one of the best ways to get that information and use it to improve your company’s performance is through customer surveys. Here are a few of the top ways to incorporate what your customers have to say into your business strategy today.

1. Encourage Your Customers to Communicate

The opinion that each customer holds about your company is important to take note of, and the best way to do so is to politely ask them to partake in a survey about their experience. If you run a retail store it’s very easy to print out instructions for taking a phone survey on each receipt.

2. Praise Your Team for the Positive Feedback

Make sure you keep your team in the loop when a customer leaves positive feedback – especially about an individual performance.

3. Learn to Implement Negative Criticism

You should always make a point to take note of repeat complaints from multiple customers – these are the issues that need to be addressed within your company immediately.

4. Ask Your Employees for Feedback

Your employees are one of your most valuable resources – they can give you a lot of insight on the inner workings of your business that may need improvement.

5. Work on the Issues Together

You can’t fix problems without your employees on board! Make it a point to hold meetings to discuss the best ways to incorporate the feedback received from your customers.

Once you’ve completed the process of sending out surveys, listening to the customer feedback, and implementing the reviews, it’s time to start over again! Continual improvement is essential for maintaining a successful business.

While it might seem if you have been let go from a job that the employer has the right to take anything from you that is not the case at all. In fact, employees have rights even after they have been let go of a job. Here’s a look at some of the rights that employee may have after being echoed from their job.

Even though your relationship with the employer has been terminated the employee does not have the right to take any type of retirement money from you. Only employees that are partially vested can have some of the retirement money held to the employer.

If you are employed in the company that has more than 20 employees your health benefits will not stop as soon as you fired. You have the right to pay into a system known as COBRA and receive the same health benefits that you did while you are employed for up to 18 months.

Unemployment benefits are available to employees that were let go due to no fault of their own or legally fired. Unemployment benefits can generally consist of cash benefits that are paid out monthly while the person is unemployed.

Should you be terminated illegally the employee has the right to file lawsuits and receive compensation for being fired illegally. The situation is generally reserved for contract employees as most employees are at will and can be let go at any point and time during their employment.

Starting out a business can be quite difficult. In many cases you never know what will work unless you try it out first. However, there are some methods that have been tested that will ensure that you fail. There are certain things you want to make sure you avoid doing when in business.

The best thing you can do is give your employees an education. By giving them the chance to earn a degree online, you are opening up new methods to further your business. Employees with a fresh education will come to you with new ideas to enhance sales and production in your business. This can only lead to positive results.

You want to avoid not marketing your business. If people don’t know you’re out there, no one will give you the business. Make sure you put you and your business out there by advertising as well as offering unique services. Put up flyers or even take an ad out in the local newspaper. Offer specials so that customers will come to you. Overall, put a positive image out there so that your new customers will keep coming back to you.

Another tactic businesses may use that doesn’t work is to change suppliers to save money. You want to make sure you have quality first, not quantity. Research any vendor that you plan to deal with. If their product or service isn’t good enough, don’t use them just because they are cheaper. Your business and your customers will suffer.

While content employees are beneficial to the employee it can be a headache for various companies who wish to terminate a contract employee.
Highlighting the Contract

When you prepare to discuss the employee why you are terminating he or she it is a good idea to have a copy of the contract in front of you and highlight all important information. This will I used to emphasize parts of the contract that was violated. You can also highlight in another color items that you want to discuss that will be terminated upon the termination of the employee.

John is a graphic artist that recently graduated from college. His lifelong dream was to own his own graphic arts company so he joined with three friends to start up a business. They worked hard and their business grew. Then, the economy took a dip, which impacted their business. They were unable to pay some of their monthly bills. At first they didn’t know what to do until someone told them about taking out a loan with GreatPlainsLending.

Financial lending institutions such as Great Plains Lending are a great source for short-term loans. They are lifesavers for people in situations like John. They provide immediate cash in an emergency when funds are low.

A short-term loan is usually paid off in a short amount of time and not in years like a home mortgage. They are easy to qualify for. You don’t have to go to the business in person. You can apply online for a loan or call them on the phone. The main information that they require is your name, address, bank account information and proof of employment. Funds are transferred electronically into your account within 24 hours.

Short-term loans are a boon when businesses need to meet immediate monthly expenses to keep their cash flow running smoothly. However, if a business has a low cash repository month after month, the business should look at other long-term financial solutions.

One thing that a business can do is to look for ways to reduce operating costs. John decided that instead of renting a plush office space, he could save money by renting a smaller unit. He rented a computer with an option to buy. He used his cell phone instead of having a landline installed.

Another option for businesses is to get a loan from a bank or credit union to cover operating costs for one to two years. This type of loan would have a lower interest rate and lower monthly payment.

_

If you are a business owner or human resources operator the chances that you will have to let them play go at some point in your career is inevitable. It is important to know how to handle this type of situation before it arises so that you know how to handle it properly. The best way to handle termination of an employee is through a letter known as the termination letter. Here’s a look at how to properly craft a termination letter so that it protects not only your business but it helps the employee.

Date of Termination

Termination letter should start off with explaining that the employment will be terminated and the date that it will be terminated on. This will usually refer to a conversation that you have already had with the employee that talked about their termination.

Reasons for Termination

After you have stated the date of termination it is a good idea to list the reason why you are terminating the relationship with the employee. Try to be as clear as possible when referencing why you are terminating your relationship with the employee.

Company Property

In the termination letter list all company property that the employee has. This will include any cars, credit cards and other items, and state when and how these items need to be returned to the company. If the employee has to pay anything it is important to include the report with how much the employee has to pay.
